Firozabad: A man allegedly hacked his daughter to death and left his wife critically injured over a trivial dispute here, police said on Monday. The incident took place late on Sunday evening in Sofipur village.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Anuj Kumar Chaudhary said preliminary findings revealed that Rakesh Rathore had attacked his 19-year-old daughter, Muskan, with an axe following a dispute, resulting in her death.
When his wife, Pushpa Devi (48), came to her daughter’s rescue, she too was attacked with an axe, leaving her critically injured. She has been admitted to the district hospital.
The accused, Rakesh Rathore, has been arrested, and the body of the deceased has been sent for postmortem examination, police said.
