Dumka: An “illegal” mini-gun factory operating from a house was busted in Jharkhand’s Dumka district, police said on Thursday.
A lathe machine and other equipment were seized during a raid at the house under Hansdiha police station limits, they said.
“The Kolkata Police had arrested two persons in connection with an arms smuggling case a few days back. During interrogation, they revealed that illegal weapons were being manufactured in Hansdiha. Acting on the inputs provided by the duo, a raid was conducted and a mini-gun factory busted,” Hansdiha police station in-charge Ajit Kumar Yadav said.
Yadav said a case has been registered against four persons, including the house owner, for operating the unit.
“All the accused are absconding and a manhunt has been launched to apprehend them,” the officer added.
