Bengaluru: Three people, one of them a nine-year-old boy, were injured in an explosion following a suspected gas leak at a storage facility used by a chaat shop in Rajarajeshwari Nagar here on Saturday morning, police said.
The injured were identified as Bablu, who ran the shop, and Lakshmamma and a nine-year-old boy, both residents of a neighbouring house, they said.
The incident occurred at around 9.30 am when Bablu arrived to open the storage room where he prepared pani puri, police said.
A preliminary investigation suggested that gas leaking from a cooking cylinder may have triggered the explosion, injuring Bablu and the two others, a senior police officer said.
The injured were admitted to a hospital, where they were undergoing treatment. Their condition was stable, the officer said.
Fire and emergency services personnel and police inspected the spot. Further investigation is underway, police said.
