Ranchi: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) carried out multiple rescue operations over the past two days, assisting an ailing passenger and rescuing two minor girls under its special outreach and safety drives, officials said on Tuesday. According to an official statement, the RPF team at Ranchi Railway Station received information on Monday evening that a passenger travelling on the JasidihโVasco da Gama Express had fallen seriously ill during the journey. Acting swiftly under Operation Sewa, RPF personnel, accompanied by railway doctors, attended to the passenger, identified as Srinath Hasada. During the medical examination, it was found that his oxygen saturation level was critically low. The passenger was immediately deboarded at Ranchi station and referred to a higher medical centre for treatment. He was later sent to the hospital along with a relative, the statement said.
In another incident on Sunday, an RPF escort team travelling on a train between Ranchi and Bokaro noticed a minor girl sitting alone in a coach under suspicious circumstances. During questioning, the girl identified herself as Gange Topno, a resident of the Lapung area of Ranchi district. She informed the RPF personnel that she had left home for Delhi without informing her family. The girl was brought back to Ranchi and handed over to Childline for care, counselling and further assistance.
In a separate rescue operation, a 16-year-old girl, identified as Amika Kumari from Lohardaga district, was found wandering alone at Hatia Railway Station on Sunday. After necessary verification and counselling, she too was handed over to Childline officials for safe custody and rehabilitation.
