Ranchi: Preparations are in full swing for the 335th Rath Yatra in Ranchi. The Jagannath Temple committee is putting in place elaborate security, sanitation and crowd management arrangements ahead of the annual festival on July 16.
The temple committee has deployed 100 private security personnel through a tender process, including male and female security guards and armed personnel.
“The committee has deployed 20 sanitation workers to maintain cleanliness throughout the fair, while the RMC will extend civic support,” said Thakur Sudhanshu Nath Shahdeo, trust member of the temple, in a press conference held on Monday.

CCTV surveillance, drinking water facilities, electricity supply and a lost and found centre will also be set up during the festival. Several organisations, including the Adivasi Sarna Samiti, Marwari Sahayak Samiti, Vishva Hindu Parishad, Bharat Sevashram Sangh and RSS volunteers, will assist in crowd management and devotee services.
Adding further, a trust member said, “Special arrangements have been made to regulate the movement of devotees, with separate entry and exit routes for men and women. Male devotees will exit through the north gate, while women will use the south gate to ensure smooth crowd flow.”
As part of the religious schedule, the Netrotsav ritual will be held at 4 am on July 15, followed by the Rath Yatra on July 16.
