Engineering aspirants seeking admission to undergraduate engineering, architecture and planning courses can now apply for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2027, with the National Testing Agency (NTA) setting November 22 as the deadline to submit applications without a late fee.
Candidates who miss the deadline will get another opportunity to apply from November 23 to 26 by paying an additional fee of Rs 500. The application process is available online at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The first session of the examination will be held in January, followed by the second session in April, giving students two opportunities to appear for the entrance test and improve their scores within the same academic year.
The January session is scheduled for January 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28 in computer-based test (CBT) mode. The examination will be conducted in two shifts, from 9 am to noon and 3 pm to 6 pm. The application correction window will remain open from November 27 to 29, while the examination city intimation is scheduled for December 30. Admit cards are expected to be released on January 13, 2027.
Rajesh Pillai, treasurer of the Ranchi Sahodaya School Complex (RSSC), said the two-session format gives students greater flexibility in planning their preparation.
“Students have their annual examinations in January, so some choose the April session to focus on their studies. Having two sessions gives them the flexibility to choose when to take the test and offers a second chance to improve their scores in the same year,” he said.
For candidates planning to appear in the April session, registration will begin on January 5 and continue until February 3, 2027. Applications with a late fee will be accepted from February 4 to 7, followed by the correction window from February 8 to 10. The examination is scheduled from April 2 to 7, with the city intimation notice expected on March 12 and admit cards on March 25.
JEE Main has separate papers for different courses. Paper 1 is for admission to BE/BTech programmes and covers Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Paper 2A is for Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) courses and includes Mathematics, an aptitude test and a drawing test, while Paper 2B is for Bachelor of Planning (BPlanning) programmes and tests Mathematics, aptitude and planning-related knowledge.
Candidates are advised to check the official NTA website for the detailed information bulletin, eligibility conditions and application requirements before submitting their forms.
