Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has announced a contribution of Rs 3 crore to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support relief and rehabilitation efforts for people affected by the devastating floods in the neighbouring state.
In a letter addressed to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Soren expressed solidarity with the people of Assam, saying the state was facing a severe crisis due to the floods, which had caused extensive damage to life and property and displaced thousands of families.
Soren said the Jharkhand government wanted to contribute to the relief efforts being undertaken for flood-affected people. He also appealed to capable individuals in Jharkhand to extend whatever assistance they could towards relief and rehabilitation operations in Assam.
Expressing appreciation for the courage and resilience of the people of Assam amid the crisis, Soren hoped that the situation would return to normal soon through collective efforts.
“If any further assistance or service is required from our side, the people of Assam will have the pleasure of receiving it,” Soren said, conveying Jharkhand’s solidarity with the flood-affected families.
