CLAT 2027 exam on Dec 6, no change in syllabus

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has officially announced the schedule for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027, with the online registration process set to begin on August 3.

Candidates can submit their applications until October 31, while the entrance examination will be held on December 6 from 2 pm to 4 pm.

The Consortium has confirmed that there will be no changes in the CLAT 2027 syllabus or examination pattern.

The two-hour examination will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions covering five sections, including English language, current affairs and general knowledge, legal reasoning, logical reasoning, and quantitative techniques.

CLAT is the national-level entrance examination for admission to five-year integrated LLB (UG) and LLM (PG) programmes offered by 24 National Law Universities (NLUs) and several other leading government and private law institutions across the country.

Education experts said the announcement of the examination schedule provides aspirants with sufficient time to strengthen their preparation.

The unchanged syllabus and exam pattern would help candidates continue with their existing preparation strategy without making major adjustments.

The Consortium stated that additional guidelines and notifications related to the admission process will be issued from time to time.

Meanwhile, the official notification for the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2027 has also been released.

Conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur, the examination will be held in computer-based test (CBT) mode on January 4, 2027.

The online application process has commenced, and candidates can apply until December 5. The application fee has been fixed at Rs 2,300.

XAT scores are accepted by more than 250 leading business schools, including XLRI Jamshedpur, XIM University, IMT Ghaziabad, TAPMI Manipal, Goa Institute of Management, Great Lakes Institute of Management, FORE School of Management, LIBA Chennai, BIM Trichy, and Woxsen University, for admission to MBA and PGDM programmes.
