Local entrepreneurs have urged government authorities to quickly repair dilapidated roads and clean clogged drains in the Adityapur industrial area. They stated that the roads are in extremely poor condition. If not repaired immediately, commuters will face severe difficulties navigating the potholed and rutted streets once the monsoon begins. โMotorists and pedestrians will face accidents if the roads are not fixed. Potholes and craters get filled with rainwater, leaving commuters unaware of the hazards beneath,โ said Rupesh Katriyar, president of the Industrial Sustainability and Reform Organisation (ISRO), Adityapur.
The ISRO submitted a formal representation to JIADA Regional Director Prem Ranjan on Wednesday, seeking his immediate cooperation. Similarly, Santosh Khetan, industrialist and former president of the Adityapur Small Industries Association (ASIA), noted that clogged drains cause severe problems during the monsoon. โIt takes several days to clean the drains in the industrial area. Municipal officials must initiate this work immediately,โ Khetan said. He added that several drains are broken and require structural repairs after being cleaned. Furthermore, entrepreneurs emphasised that the dilapidated roads must be completely resurfaced alongside fixing individual potholes, ruts, and craters.
