The East Singhbhum district administration has introduced traffic diversions across Jamshedpur to regulate vehicular movement during Durga Puja.
The revised traffic arrangements came into effect on Thursday and will remain in force till October 21. Commuters have been advised to follow the designated routes to avoid congestion around busy roads and Puja pandals.
Under the new arrangements, auto-rickshaws travelling from Mango towards Sakchi will take the route via Mango bus stand chowk, MGM Hospital, Sheetla Mandir and Delhi Darbar hotel before reaching Sakchi roundabout. Those travelling from Sakchi to Mango will move via Bengal Club, Old Court turning and Marine Drive turning, using only the old bridge. One-way movement will be enforced on both routes.
Two-wheelers, three-wheelers and small cars travelling from Sakchi roundabout towards Bhalubasa and Baridih will use Straight Mile road. Other vehicles heading from Sakchi and Mango towards Baridih, Sidgora, Bhalubasa, Agrico, Telco and Golmuri, except two-wheelers, will be diverted via the southern side of Mango bridge and Bhuiyandih Road.
Vehicles bound for Govindpur will travel via Neeldih roundabout, ISWP company, Telco main gate and Labour Bureau chowk. Those coming from Telco and Tube gate towards Star Talkies and Tatanagar railway station will take Namdi road, Beena road, Mona road and BMP school, proceeding through TRF ground, Star Talkies and Burmamines overbridge.
