The Guardian Chronicle, in association with WAMS Modeling Institute, organised the grand finale of Miss & Mrs Sawan Queen 2026 (Season 8) on Sunday at Swagat Banquet Hall, Kantatoli.
Held during the auspicious month of Shravan, the event carried a special Sawan theme and brought together 20 contestants, comprising 10 Miss and 10 Mrs participants.
The event was inaugurated by Amit Kumar Verma, owner of Maa Tara Green City and Construction. Ambrish Srivastava, Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of The Guardian Chronicle News; Prashant Kumar, Business Head of TGC; Sukalyan Saha, Brand and Event Head of TGC; Wasim Alam, Director of WAMS; and Huma, Co-Director of WAMS, were also present.
The distinguished jury panel comprised Archana Choubey, Ridhima Agarwal, Vaidehi Pandey, Daisy Sinha, Sadhana Kumar and Dr Nidhi Sukhija.
The contestants showcased their beauty, talent and confidence while competing for the coveted Sawan Queen crowns. The competition featured three rounds, each designed to assess a different aspect of the participants’ overall personality.
The first, the Walk Round, focused on gait, presentation and confidence. The Introduction Round gave contestants an opportunity to highlight their individual qualities, while the final Question Round tested their thinking, communication skills and presence of mind.
The top five winners from both the Miss and Mrs categories were selected based on their overall performance.
Speaking about the initiative, Wasim Alam said the objective of the contest went beyond a conventional beauty competition. He said the event provided participants with a platform to express their individuality and showcase their talent and confidence.
He added that contestants from different backgrounds and age groups came together on a common platform to celebrate their abilities.
The jury members said the programme reflected the changing fashion and modelling landscape in Jharkhand. Contestants were evaluated on parameters including confidence, attire and overall appearance, stage presence, personality, communication skills and the manner in which they carried themselves.
