Jamshedpur: The seventh edition of the Jharkhand National Film Festival (JNFF) has brought together filmmakers, artists, students and cinema enthusiasts on a common platform to celebrate cinema and promote regional storytelling. The five-day festival, being held from October 22 to 26, featured screenings of films such as Sahara, Vande Mataram, O Chhora and Over Duty for Nature on its second day. The films explore themes ranging from environmental conservation and patriotism to social evils and other contemporary issues.
The festival was inaugurated at the Centre for Excellence on Thursday, with national award-winning filmmaker Ravi Raj Murmu sharing insights into the intricacies of filmmaking with participants. The organisers have set a target of screening around 90 films during the five-day event.
Screenings will be held at Jamshedpur Women’s University on October 24 and 25, followed by screenings at Srinath University in Adityapur on October 26.
