The South-Eastern Railway announced the cancellation of four trains during the winter season of 2026-27. The cancellations will remain in force for different periods between December 2026 and February 2027.
According to a press release issued by SER on Monday, the Santragachi–Anand Vihar Terminal Express (22857) will remain cancelled from December 7, 2026, to February 22, 2027. Its corresponding return service, the Anand Vihar Terminal–Santragachi Express (22858), will remain cancelled from December 8, 2026, to February 23, 2027.
The railway has also announced the cancellation of the Tatanagar–Amritsar Express (18103) from December 2, 2026, to February 24, 2027. The return service, Amritsar–Tatanagar Express (18104), will remain cancelled from December 4, 2026, to February 26, 2027.
The cancellations have been announced in view of the fog in the winter. The affected services include trains connecting important destinations in Jharkhand, West Bengal, Delhi and Punjab.
PUJA SPECIAL TRAINS
The SER has also announced the operation of Puja Special trains from Hatia railway station to Bengaluru and Mumbai to meet the expected rush during the festive season.
A press release by SER said Hatia–SMVT Bengaluru Special Train 08637, Hatia–SMVT Bengaluru Special, will depart from Hatia every Wednesday from October 14 to November 11 at 9 am and reach SMVT Bengaluru at 8.45 pm the following day.
In the return direction, Train No 08638, SMVT Bengaluru–Hatia Special, will leave SMVT Bengaluru every Friday from October 16 to November 13 at 12.30 am and arrive at Hatia at 12.30 pm the next day. The train will halt at Balsiring, Govindpur Road, Bano, Rourkela and Jharsuguda under SER jurisdiction.
Another train, Hatia–LTT Mumbai Special 08609, Hatia–LTT Mumbai Special, will run every Monday from October 12 to October 26, departing Hatia at 4.20 pm and reaching LTT Mumbai at 9.50 pm the next day.
