Mathura: A bus travelling on the wrong side collided head-on with a two-wheeler, killing a 42-year-old vegetable vendor here around 8:30 am on Monday, officials said.
Police said the accident happened near Vatsalya Gram under the Vrindavan police station area, and the deceased, who was going to Vrindavan, died on the spot.
Circle Officer (Vrindavan) Sandeep Kumar Singh said police identified the deceased as Kishan (42), a resident of Akrur village. Locals alleged that the bus driver was driving on the wrong side of the road, leading to a head-on collision.
Police said they are reviewing CCTV footage to confirm the locals’ claim.
Police said the body of the deceased has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and they detained the bus driver and seized the bus.
Singh said police will take further action on complaints from the deceased’s family.
