Bokaro: Journalists, senior officials of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), and the district administration on Wednesday paid heartfelt tributes to veteran journalist Arvind Sharma at a condolence meeting organised by the Bokaro Press Club at Circuit House.

Sharma, the Press Trust of India (PTI) district correspondent and a founding member of the Press Club, was remembered as a principled, humble, and dedicated journalist whose contribution to Bokaro’s media fraternity will be cherished. Floral tributes were offered, followed by a two-minute silence in his memory.

District Public Relations Officer Ravi Kumar said Sharma’s integrity, simplicity, and commitment to journalism would remain an inspiration for young media professionals. BSL Chief of Communications Manikant Dhan described him as an honest and sincere journalist whose professionalism and courteous nature earned him immense respect. Senior BSL Public Relations officials Abhinav Shankar and Ravi Kumar Sinha also paid their respects.

Speakers recalled Sharma’s passion for ethical and investigative journalism, unwavering commitment to truth, and warm personality. Journalists, BSL executives, district officials, and other dignitaries expressed condolences to the bereaved family.

Sharma passed away recently while undergoing treatment for a heart ailment at a hospital in Chandrapura, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the field of journalism in Bokaro.
