CM to review Deoghar Shravani Mela preparations on Saturday

The official inauguration of the Shravani Mela 2026 is scheduled for July 29 at Dumma, located on the Bihar-Jharkhand border. Ahead of the inauguration, Chief Minister Hemant Soren is expected to visit Deoghar on July 25 to review preparations for the month-long fair.

According to official information, the Chief Minister will chair a high-level review meeting at the Deoghar Circuit House, where he will take stock of the arrangements being made for the smooth and safe conduct of the Shravani Mela.

Sources said the meeting will be attended by senior officials from the Shravani Mela area, including the Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, DIG, Commissioner, Deoghar and Dumka, as well as officers from all concerned departments of Deoghar and Dumka.

The Director General of Police, departmental secretaries, and other senior officials are also expected to accompany the Chief Minister.

Senior officials of the Tourism Department, the Baba Baidyanath Temple Trust Board, and the Basukinath Temple Trust Board will also participate in the review meeting.

Invitations have reportedly been sent to public representatives, including the Godda MP, MLAs of Deoghar and Dumka, and local representatives associated with the Basukinath temple.

With the Chief Minister’s visit approaching, the Deoghar district administration has accelerated preparations for the Shravani Mela, with a focus on infrastructure, security, crowd management, and pilgrim facilities.
