To celebrate World Environment Day and promote environmental awareness among young minds, The Guardian Chronicle, Ranchi’s newly launched world-class newspaper, is organizing a special drawing competition for school students. The initiative aims to encourage children to creatively express their ideas and concerns about environmental protection through art.
The competition will be held on the theme ‘Save the Environment, Secure the Future’. Students are invited to prepare attractive drawings depicting the importance of conserving nature and protecting the environment for future generations. Through this initiative, the newspaper seeks to inspire young people to reflect on environmental challenges and become active participants in the movement for a cleaner and greener planet.
World Environment Day, observed every year on June 5, serves as a reminder of the urgent need to address issues such as climate change, deforestation, pollution, loss of biodiversity and the unsustainable use of natural resources. Environmental experts have repeatedly stressed that creating awareness among children is essential for building a sustainable future, and creative activities such as drawing competitions can play an important role in spreading the message of conservation.
Students participating in the competition are required to submit a clear scanned copy or photograph of their drawing along with a selfie holding the artwork. They must also provide their name, class, school name and contact number. All entries should be sent through WhatsApp to 72810 05254.
A panel of judges will evaluate all submissions and the top five drawings will be selected for publication in The Guardian Chronicle. The selected participants will not only see their work featured prominently in the newspaper but will also receive attractive gifts and special recognition for their efforts in promoting environmental awareness. The last date and time for submission of entries is June 5 (Friday) by 2pm.
